The NKR Awards Gala is held to celebrate living kidney donors and recognize the past year’s achievements in the American transplant community. The NKR brings together members of every facet of the kidney transplant community for a one-of-a-kind evening at the timeless Plaza Hotel in the heart of New York City.

The 2024 NKR Awards Gala will be held at The Plaza in New York City on Thursday, June 20, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

We welcome kidney donors at the NKR Awards Gala and honor living donors at the event. If you are a kidney donor who has not received an invitation, please reach out to your transplant center coordinator.

Yes. The NKR Awards Gala begins with a champagne reception followed by a full seated dinner. Attendees with special dietary requirements can ask their server to accommodate their needs.

Each year, the NKR’s Operations Committee develops a comprehensive agenda of cutting-edge topics that are highly relevant to the critical work that transplant center teams undertake. Speakers include representatives from NKR member centers who share insights, best practices and more. Question and answer sessions are included as part of each speaker’s presentation. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

The Transplant Coordinator Training Forum is on Thursday, June 20, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the JW Marriott Essex House New York.

The International Symposium: The Future of Solid Organ Transplantation is open to transplant center professionals including doctors, surgeons, and transplant coordinators. Topics covered at this summit focus on the future of living kidney donation and the cutting-edge technologies that are critical to better donor-recipient matches. Lunch will be served.

The NKR will apply for up to 6.0 AMA, ANCC, and CEPTC credits through a joint providership agreement with the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) for the Coordinator Training Forum only.

The dress code for the Awards Gala is Business Formal. Women typically wear a business suit or cocktail dress. Men typically wear a business suit or sports jacket, ties are optional. The dress code for the Coordinator Training and International Symposium is Business Casual.

Both the JW Marriott Essex House New York and The Plaza offer valet parking. The daily cost for a regular sized car is $95 at The Plaza and $100 at JW Marriott Essex House New York. Neither venue requires a reservation for valet parking. There are no in-and-out privileges at either location. Independent parking garages are also available in the area.
